When I first was getting to know Sydney and her girls over lunch at the community pool, I was always impressed by her preparation; cucumbers (that she grew) sliced in vinegar, trail mixes, sliced fruit and other veggies, all in tin reusable containers. I'm trying to do better with my family's eco-friendliness.
Then, as our children ate her delicious homemade pizza, out came several old burp cloths and washcloths from a nearby drawer to wipe up one of Thomas's spills!
So simple. So much better than the endless wads of paper towel I throw away. Designate a drawer for kid rags, wash when it gets funky, repeat.
I probably won't do this in NYC because I don't have a washer/dryer, but I already have a rag drawer started at our house in NJ.
